downpipes make a big difference, and depending on the turbo's you've got you may be forced into buying some...

so which tubs have you bought?

If you are going with that lot I'm going to assume your tubs are bigger, in which case they will be 5 studs rather than the stock 4. Which means you will need downpipes anyway (5 stud).

The downpipes will reduce your spool up time and if you are doing the lot in your list I would definately get a nice set of ini downpipes on there as well.

the tubs are PE1420 same as Andy Duff runs and a few on znet and im fairly sure they are 4 stud which is why i chose them as they have great spool up , teflon coated houseing for tighter tolerances and can give up to 550 bhp with supporting mods or so im told ....im looking for a usable 400+rwhp nothing monsterous but enough to embaras the local pikey porsche and M3 drivers .im looking into after market ECU's so ican have it mapped for tourque which i am more interested in having loads of .....or am i barking up the wrong tree or in fact completely barking mad :)

1420s are 5 stud Steve ;) Check with Danny as they may come with downpipes :) I think they may have stopped providing them though now...

oh bugger !!!!.........i know danny is away until Monday next week so i will contact him then Andy ,

any preference on what down pipes are suitable or best to use with the PE1420 turbines ?

thanks for the input .........now where is that cheque book ??????

If you've bought this kit through danny, then yep they will come with their own unique set of downpipes, pretty much everything in the kit is unique to PE turbo's because of the shape and size of gaskets, flanges and pipe work etc.

If for some strange reason it doesn't have any ( but am sure it does) then one of danny's suppliers used to supply aftermarket downpipes for just PE turbo's, so don't worry.

If your thinking aftermarket ECU down the line, then maybe stick a map senor on now whilst it's all getting taken apart, feed the wire into the footwell ready, it's less than 100 bucks and makes life easier in the future.
