If the dash surround is held on with double-sided sticky foam tape, it's the same as what i had. I removed the switched and dash surround and 'carefully' using a hot air gun(not too hot or a hair dryer), applied some heat and used a blunt screwdriver to gently prise the ali from the plastic. Try to remove the sticky tape from the ali and leave it on the plastic, once the ali is off you can remove the tape from the plastic by rubbing with a soft cloth and using a dab of white spirit. 'Word of warning', obviously you have no idea the condition of the surround under the aliminium, and take your time.

Good luck mate.
