Cop rescued from serious Injury in a Football Yob Attack!

I'm sure some of you saw this on the news, the poor copper who was set on by a gang of Rangers football yob's. I'm sure we are not all fans of the police but this was just un called for. this is one of the reason's I despise football, you never see this type of thing after a Rugby match!

If it wasnt for the anonomous hero Soldier, who pulled him away, then he'd have been seriously beaten if not killed. :(

need some vigilanties!!

are you joking...they only just have enough powers to stop and search a known crack dealer :(

thats what id let them do, nothing wrong with a bit of police brutality in the right place. Shame they didnt have rubber bullets

Well i was there and had an amazing day. they complained about the amount of rubbish that there was to clean up but take a guess at how many large bins there were? i never seen one the only ones were the normal street ones. they provided fan zones that were no where near big enough to hold the number of people that traveled down plus there was no food facility inside these zones so u had to leave and pray you could get back in after u had something to eat. what happened later on there was no excuse for but 500 fighting out of 200k is a tiny amount. they just didnt prepare for this at all

I was talking to my mate earlier who was there and he said he said you could tell it would kick off and was surprised there wasn't more trouble. He said they put on these fan zones and were supplying alcohol from early morning but there was no extra food stalls and no toilets. He said there was a river of piss running down the street as there was a 3 hour wait for the toilet. He said it kicked off by about a dozen so called (drunk)supporters and the police just appeared out of no-where but instead of just rounding up the trouble makers they waded into the crowd, he said the Rangers supporters were all just carrying on as normal waiting for the arseholes to be rounded up but the police just continued coming forward waving their batons and then they set the dogs on the crowd, thats when some of the fans turned on the police.

Just to add my mate was there with his boss as he was down for a promotion interview and wanted to show a good impression.

He also said the when the big screens failed before kick off the police were trying to prevent the supporters from leaving the fanzone to try and find somewhere showing the match.

There's always two sides to every story but thats still no exscuse for the behaviour of certain fans!!!

the media always turn on the fans, thats why i dont belive a word they say, for all we know that copper may have smashed an inncoent bystander over the head with his batton when/if they attacked the crowd, and thats why he got battered, wouldn't be the first time, like the big guy said, there is always 2 stories and generally the journos version is over inflated and untrue.

yeah i agree theres always two sides to a story. but does it give the green light for 10-15 people to attack him? of course it doesnt . but imo i think alot of the blame is on manchester its self , they new there was thousands of fans coming down and they only put a handful of police to man it, talk about putting a lamba in a pride of lions!!
