Took my daughter and wife out to run some more miles in today.

Daughter is still in the baby carrier but will probably be upgrading to a car seat in the next few months.

The baby seat fitted nicely in the front seat with enough room behind for my wife to sit.

I'm wondering, those of you who put your kid(s) in the Zed. Do you put them in the back seat and what seat have you got that works with lap belts and the akward shape of the bucket seats in the back ?.

i don't personally have experience with this but have known people to fill a black bag with expanding foam and then mould it into the rear seat creating a flat spot on the top. then any normal car seat should fit into the rear with 3 point harnesses.

We managed to get a normal baby seat in the back behind the passenger. Passenger seat needs to go quite a way forward but it does fit.

To help the seat get a decent position we put a cushion in the bucket. Seems to work quite well.

What I did was to re-locate the buckle part of the rear seat belt, so it comes out between the seat base and the seat back- it does spoil the look of the seat a bit, but at least it works. That way the car seat fits perfectly in the bucket and is more secure than it is in our Ford Focus ! The best fit is the Maxi Cosi Priori - and believe me we tried loads !!

Thanks guys, I only have the lap belts in the back and not 3 pointers.

Does the Maxi still fit with just a lap belt ?

No - and I wouldn't want to risk it. I suggest you get some 3 point rears.

I think I'll keep the wife in the back then of use the Beema instead :).

Really don't want to throw more money at the Zed, spent far too much already.

Thanks for the advice though.

She's happy enough in the front seat, I think once I've run the car in and can go over 3k rpm, she'll not be allowed in the Z too much.

I got my 3 point rears from AndyZ and don't think they were that expensive. My 15 month old little girl loves going in the Zed :D
