speedo calibration

hi people

 

trying to adjust mt speedo calibration today........

 

the potentiometer on the right alters deflection, which i can adjust, but the potentiometer on the left does nothing:confused: (as looking foward).

 

my speedo is reding 5mph under @ 30mph, but reading spot on @ 100mph, and i would assume that it would be reading over @ 180mph by approx. 5mph

 

can anyone help me out with this?
