Dont trust stock guages invest in an aftermarket one for it to be more precise dont forget these guages are very old now, as for the cooling matter one of the Mech's will be along shortly no doubt lol.

Coolant At right level?

No obstructions on rads?

Fans working ?

thats the only thing I would go for.

You might have an airlock. When the water stops moving the air heat's up and expands thus dumping water. Mine did this for a while. Just kept topping it up until it stopped.

Good luck with it.

Would it be right jacking the front of the car up also for this Cooper ?

Can't hurt. That was what I was told but just removed the plug on the rad and went from there.

yep thats right, park it on an incline or jack the front end up, they are prone t an air lock in the middle of the block so you need to get this to the front of the engine, slacken the plug from the left of the rad as you are stood in front of it and run it, this should get rid of the air lock if that is your problem,i hope this helps, Regards, Chris.

cheers mi dears will give it another try
