Have recently fitted a new koyo type rad.Have modified the cowling to fit.all is good, but takes longer to come up to working temperature. Is there anything I can do so the temp can rise sooner as it now takes longer for the car to heat up when the mornings are cold?

drive faster:D

shouldnt really affect it on warm up as the thermostat is stopping the coolant flowing around the radiator till about 70c anyway.

did you replace the thermostat?

No ,but i know what you mean about the coolant flow, but with more coolant in the system would'nt it take longer for the hot coolant ,once the thermostst has opened ,that is,to reach the heater matrix,???:(

It only takes a few mins more for the car to warm up with a koyo, bear in mind that the stock rad holds 2 lires of water tops the koyo holds closer to 10 so the system has a grater volume of water to heat.

Its the small price you pay to be able to know that the cars not going to cook.
