oil cooler

Hi Guys,

 

Ive got little confused with the standard oil cooler on my car its a tt manual import is the little oil cooler on the front for the gearbox or the engine?

Not sure if manual gearboxes have a cooler. Can someone confirm?

They do have ENGINE oil coolers lol. UK spec also had gearbox and diff oil coolers too ;)

 

Oh and as standard the auto boxes used pipes in the radiator end tanks to cool the box fluid :)

 

Oh and also UK cars had PAS coolers too :tongue:

Drivers side, either side of the filler plug, one in front is above and the one behind is below.

so where does the cooler go in and out of the manual box?

 

There are inlet and outlet pipe holes on the side that are'nt used on the Jap version.

They are right on the side near the filler plug bud can take a pic of one tomorrow if you want?

The cooler and pump are mounted next to the diff on the rear subframe. Overkill by Nissan IMO for anything other than SERIOUS track use or very prolonged high speed runs...

Yep. Its worth upgrading the Jap Engine oil cooler to a 19row cooler. (same size as UK/Nismo)

My new engine spec is far from standard so im thinking the 6 extra rows could come in handy. Or not?
