oil cooler jap /uk

Will a uk spec 16 row oil cooler fit on a jap spec car, will the old pipes reach the new bigger cooler ,i belive these are solid metal pipes are the threads the same between uk and jap spec .Does any one know what tread size is as well thanks taff.;)

Yes they fit. You dont remove the metal unions, you just pull the rubber pipes off, and put them back on the new cooler.

So is there much reason to fit a bigger oil cooler? would it make a big difference to engine temp?

and why did they make the jap spec smaller when its hotter there than in the uk?

Jap's dont have the heating issues that Euro spec cars do becuase they dont have the ling motorways/autobahns that europe has.

Thats why Jap spec does'nt have PAS cooler or Diff cooler and has a Smaller Autobox and engine cooler.

Upgrading the Jap Engine oil cooler is very much recommended, especially with increased boost, the oil can get so hot that its becomes too thin to get through the pressure valve to the oil cooler and that ends up rocketing the temps even higher. If you ever feel the stock oil cooler and its cool to touch then you know thats what is happening !

I think humidity might be another reason...but thats just a guess.....may get corrected on that.

so, what about diff/pas cooler? do i need them too?

Not personally seen or heard of any problems of overheated PAS fluid or diff issues.
