millions of things it could be ? have you got dump valves and have you a boost leak check done ? what does the car idle at and try and drive slower LOL

AS pAUL SAID IT COULD BE A NUMBER OF THINGS, TRY CLEANING THE WATER TEMP SENSOR AT THE FRONT OF THE BLOCK, SHOULD BE A YELLOW CONNECTOR

First port of call woul dbe to get a conzult plugged into it. Check the conzult link to see if anyone is near you that owns one.

If this shows up as all clear then, you will want to start cleaning your sensors, tps, temp, MAf etc.

May also be worth giving yuor throttle bodies a clean.

id go with temp sensor, bloody things!!

I'm having the same problem Hayley and have tried quite a few things so far! My next check will be for boost leaks as I do have dump valves installed, but from before I had the car so I don't know how well they were done.

If anyone knows of a good guide on how to check for boost leaks, it would probably be very useful for both of us :)

AFAIK, it's a case of finding/making something to bung up the intake, with a valve in the center, and pressurising the system to see if it holds. If not, start listening for escaping air. Does this sound about right, anyone?

Hi! I had exactly the same problem! I gave the throttle bodies a good clean with a toothbrugh and carb cleaner and had no problems since!

Good luck!

Is there a write-up on this as mine does it everynow and then as well! I was thinking it was down to me still operating on a S1 PTU but in the meantime wouldn't mind trying this...

Also...mine's an auto.
