THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE THREAD YET

What a dilemma!!

In the last 24hrs, I have been offered a 'buy back' into a small business I was part owner of (70's-90's Classic Porsche Spares). I sold my share last year when turnover started falling suddenly.. Business is back on the up  BUT.. it will mean having to release the money sat in my zed

It's a good opportunitiy, and something I enjoyed doing.. Driving all over the country buying up all the old unwanted/unloved/broken down Porsches, and taking them apart :D

Next dilemma is, if I do sell my zed, do I sell it 'as is', almost as I bought it back off spongey last year http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=95898 apart from recent new mot & years tax, Koyo rad, lowered suspension, new brakes alround, Work Rezax alloys, Veilside front bumper etc.. OR, complete the mods I have in mind including a respray, and sell for a better price

Just airing my thoughts, and always interested in what the membership's opinions are on things like this, especially where it concerns the zed..

you're not allowed to sell till you come to one of our meets

If it were me I would ask 2 questions

1) If business IS on the up why have they asked you to buy back in, are they doing well or do they need extra capital ?

2) If business really is on the up have a look a loan options and repay it back quicker if possible or a flerxi loan

All IMHO though

you won't recoup the extra you spend on it, not much point finishing it just to sell it straight away either

Go with your heart.we will always be here if it does not work out and you want to come back;)

Thanks for the input mate..

I did alot of the internet selling/accounts, and got pretty good at it, when I went, my input was missed.. Internet sales went to zero, and the business just started supplying other breaker dealers with bulk buys, which is OK for a steady turnover, but not very lucrative.

When I left the business, we sold off ALOT of stock 70%, and gave up some premises.. All that stock needs to be replaced.. That's where I come into play.. I can see the demand has increased significantly.

Not interested in having any loans again in my life.. If I haven't got it, I don't spend it.

What he said ^^^^^^^^^^

or hold onto it and find another way to raise the cash

IMHO :D

It depends if you think you'll buy another later. It's a one off car you'll lose money on if you sell. Follow your heart buddy but you'll be back, they all come back in the end :D lol

100% correct.

I agree.

Defineately true bud, you won't get extra for it once you have done more to it. Best to sell as it is and if you already own the parts sell them off seperately. :)

I expect I would be back one day mate :D

If you 'love' the car....and I know how attached you lot become to your zeds don't sell it because you'll never find anyone who appreciates it as much as you and it will break your heart when you have to sell it for nowhere near what you want for it.

Its not a case of market value when you put so much time into something its about how much its worth to you....and to be honest its criminal what these beautiful cars fetch.

Find the money another way before I make myself cry!!

Regards

Rob

I'm having my arches flared at madmarco's tomorrow.. We could have a mini-meet there.. Would that count as attending a meet? ;)
