Ok, not really Zed specific but seeing as how the windscreen is on a Zed.

Has anyone had this done? Is it advisable? Can it only be done on certain size chips?

Don't know much about this sorry, but i suppose it would be quite a good idea as it would stop the chip spreading into a crack. :)

Not sure if any of the chips are bad enough to spread into a crack but they just look a bit crappy ans wondered if there was anything that could be done aprt from replacing windscreen which could prove quite an expensive exercise

Just pop into your local AutoWindscreens place (or whoever you have near to you) and ask them. Also ask if it could be done through your car insurance (IF you have windscreen cover) Had it done to the works van a couple of years ago, and you couldn't notice it at all!

Highly recommended, but it's gota be a professional outfit, not some bodge-it back street garage!

All chips no matter the size are prone to cracking, if you get a magnifying glass or something that enhances the zoom you will see hundreds of what we shall call jagged edges....

These are all waiting for the right bump, knock etc etc to spread into that huge crack you will be dreading :D

Also if you are fully comp the insurance company normally replace it for like 50 quid... but you will be liable to full paying of your policy amount so dont cancel if you are comp and claim the windscreen.

Cheers, so i can be done on any size chip then?

just as daves-zed said, had a windscreen repaired on my van 3 months ago, only took 20 minutes to do. (if you are fully comp) will not efect your ins renewal. can be done on any size chip. but it does depend were it is on screen.

There are a few in various places. What parts of the screen can't be done, do you know?
