I noticed the other day afetr starting my car up and getting out that when cold the exhaust flows normally then every so often there is like a stutter and puff then returns to running smoothly. Is that a misfire? if so, what can I do to stop it?

a puff of smoke or what?

Sounds a bit like an Intermitant missfire, does it do it only when cold? Check all coil pack connections and also temp sender connectors, (the two on those front water pipes, probably bound up with tape hehe)

Has it onyl done it the once?

Yeah, only does it when cold. When I first turn it on, the exhaust smokes for a few mins (Running rich) and the smoke coming out of it is steady then it will 'cough' so to speak..

Could even be a lazy o2 sensor screwing up the mixture when its cold but behaving itself once warm.

Yeah in warmer weather, no smoke whatsoever and runs smooth as silk..
