Moved to correct forum ;)

I can convert AVI to:

DVD

MP4

3GP

MPEG

MOV

WMV

RM

SWF

But not GIF I'm affraid.

How longs the movie ?. Could you not use something like Windows media player to grab frames then link them up using Jasc Animation shop 3 ? Unless you can get hold of a video compressor then you can open them directly in Animation shop 3.

P.S.

Animation Shop 3 is what I used to make the music man vid ;). You can put loads of photo's together (ones you have cruely edited) then link them up as a gif file or movie file.

Do a search on google for avi to gif freeware.

You will find lots of stuff that will do it. Never used any so it will be trial and error mainly.

Good luck with it.

Darrell

AVI is a movie and GIF is a static image so can't really be done.

Animated GIF's are different and just made up of a few images strung together.

blaze gif creator does this you can import an avi straight in as standard, then crop and resize the image size and edit the individual frames for the gif also, you can preview and shuttle the images also.

this is the best one and easiest to use, it also has multipe export options and resolution options, its better than ulead gif creator.

Sorry to piggyback this thread, but does anyone know of any freeware that I can use to reduce the file size of a AVI file?

Thanks, Mike...
