As you probably know I´ve been having problems with excessive pressure in the fuel tank. I checked the carbon canister with a bypass but came up with the same problem,,so on Tuesday I threw the Walbro pump out and put in a brand new TT OEM pump ...what a difference !!

I thought the car felt slower on pickup with the Walbro pump but put it down to imagination but now going from OEM to a Walbro and back to the OEM pump I have to say they are worlds apart...so if you pump breaks..in my humble opinion try and get an OEM replacement :D

and..after fitting the OEM pump the excess preasure has dissapeard from the fuel tank...so Topless you were right all along mate

cheers

Andy...I think it was niether..it wasn´t faulty nor was it incompatible ..it just didn´t deliver the goods ...with the walbro i was able to disconnect the fuel return pipe without fuel shooting out of it ...I had the feeling the Walbro "just about does the job" but didn´t have any extra oomph when you needed it...if that makes any sense.

The walbro should be 255lph which is the same as the stock fuel pump. Although its not the first time I've heard of walbro problems on the Z32....but I dont remember what the other issues were.

Just goes to show, `Performance` parts with a brand name arnt necessarily the best option. I spent a fortune on my Escort RS Turbo on `brand name` parts and im sure it had less performance by the time id finished!!

yep Legrath

that´s why I went for the Walbro mate..and to be honest the thinng works..and the car still feels fast ...but when you compare the two and have a direct comparison by test driving the two pumps withing a few hours of eachother you can feel a difference.

That said, I might have gotten a Monday morning production walbro.

Glad you have it all sorted bud, the warlbros have been a bit flakey in the past, but even the top brand names don't have a great rep when it comes to reliability I am afraid :(
