So there could be a 300zx TTD and still be a supercar Lol

at 500+bhp i would'nt say no, lol oh and nice pussy Andy, lol

Saw one of those R8's in Croydon today and fecking hell its a monster and very beefy

They are pretty scary when they come roaring up behind you and you are watching them in your poxy rearview mirror

What BHP are they standard?

As for having a diesel one :wack:

EDIT: ^^ Doh he answered the bhp thing ^^

lol athene, yep they're very scary to drive aswell as looking mean, i've had the pleasure of driving the petrol and fook me it shifts

ive sat in one lol, where do you work bud??????

i went to the launch of the R8 in sunderland, all the stupid salesmen kept firing it up and revving the knackers of it, what a way to fook an engine lol

Audi have been running Diesel at Le Mans the last few years and walking it every time. There is more energy in deisel than there is in petrol, its just knowing how to be most efficiant with it.

Yep, I think there's a lot of future in diesel as a sports car engine. Huge torque, just not a high reving engine, I presume this is because diesel just doesn't burn that fast, ie slow flame path, so the faster it revs the less time it has to burn the fuel.

Audi are bringing out a diesel version of the coupe too.

I thought they only won it because they had to make fewer fuel stops??.

Lap times in the Audi diesel are quicker than the other petrol running cars in the LMP1 class. So nothing to do with pit stops.

Yeah so did we donkeys ages ago :duffer:

Didn't they change the rules last time to disadvantage the diesels (eg smaller fuel tanks) and they still won ?

I know they still won (was there the last four years) but couldnt answer the fuel tank qestion without googling it first so wont bother lol

Would like to see the Bentley up against the Audi diesel, think that would give it a run for its money.:smash:

God I love this car in ALL its variants...

(One pictured above is the Le Mans edition)

The V12 TDI with a displacement of six litres powers a concept car based on the Audi R8. It generates a huge 500 bhp and 737.56 lb-ft of torque which is running efficiently at its peak just over 1700rpm.

And the car still manages a combined 20mpg.

With a 0-62 in JUST 4.2 Seconds and a Top Speed of 186mph, this is definately proof that fueling is evolving away from regular unleaded.

Will the V12 TDI fit in a Zed?? £££££££'s Lol They say its a very tight fit in the r8? ;)

How much would a TT z32 cost now if it was brand new compared to the Audi R8?

Mention (thinking about) a 300zx with a TTD diesel engine in it and everyone normally wants to throw stones at you! Lol But most people seem amazed that Audi are doing this in a Supercar.

The thing about AUDI is they are not frightened to have a go. Look at the Veyron. Another example of "He who dares wins" IMO.

at 500bhp its not to be sniffed at either
