Hi people,

I received my Greddy Profec B Spec II Boost Controler today :hyper:

I've looked at the plumbing and wiring instructions and I get most of it but not all  and was wondering if someone local(ish) would be willing to help me fit and set it up (for an exchange of beer tokens of course) and I'll drive to you

Also, I'm guessing I may need some extra tubing and maybe some 'T' pieces would I be correct with that as you only get one valve/solonoid jobby type thingy ?

hi paul

would love to help but am tied up with work for the next 4-5 days.

if you get it plumbed in i can send you my set up values to see if it works on your 300, although every 300 set up will be slightly different.

i can also give you my number if you get stuck with some bits, but i am no expert only a few years off 300 knowledge.

hope this helps,

alan.

Thanks Alan,

Yeah, it's the plumbing bit I'm not not entirely sure about. I'm assuming the pipes that go to the wastegate actuators need to be T'd together and go to the boost controller and also T'd back to the wastegates  But I'm sort of guessing here

i am on shift this weekend and the following weekend, sorry mate cannot help you with the fitting.

i am off work for 1 day on wednesday, but i have issues with my 300 that i need to address. i will look at the plumbing and take some notes for you if you get stuck and can give you a little advise on the fone, if you like. it looks like a big task but its not that bad, just access for the pipe work.

setting the f*!%ing thing is another thing. took me approx. 10 or so hours of driving and loads of f*!$ing fuel, but have got a good set up now.

porsche 911 turbo......... not a f!"*$ng chance!!!!!!

anyway.... 07956050047 thats my number, if in trouble give me a call

CheerZ Allan, I'll keep that in mind and LOL at "Setting The F*!%ing Thing up" I can imagine it is

Do I need extra 4mm and 6mm tubing and will silicone tubing be ok to use ?

yes you need extra tubing. i got a whole load from smithy, nice red silicone stuff. if you get some left over you can replace some old vac/boost tubing.

cheers

CheerZ Alan, I'm assuming 4mm and 6mm and I'm going for blue :) will 2 meters of each be enough or will I need more.

Also, those that have thier B Spec II in the stock clock location and after making the aperature larger with a Dremel, how did you secure it ?

I'm still on the look out for more help with fitting, pictures or a digram of where all the hoses etc. need to be connected together, to the B Spec II, to the solioniod thingy and the wastegates would be nice ;)

i will go and take some pics for you now.

i can get you some "dual lock", its like ultra hard fitting velcro, if you like for holding the profec B.

i would get around 4-6 metres of tubing, more is best, dont know which size.

will post back soon

LOL CheerZ Alan although it looks differnet to what I was expecting and and a little different to my engine bay, now dont laugh at this shitty little picture I have drawn (ok go on then cus I am LOL) but this is how I "think" it should be and looking at your pictures I "may" be right.

Green T'd together from the hard intake pipes to the solonoid

Red T'd togehter from the soloniod to the wastegates (remeve stock solonoid connectors)

Grey from Profec to soloniod

Pink (LOL) from fuel dampener to Profec ?????

Is this basically the jist of it  LOL

Alanz - your solenoid is in a strange place. I thought most people (inc me) placed it under the nose panel?

Shouldn't make a difference though...

Ah ha, good idea, also keeps the piping the same length too ;)

Yeah, I think that is the idea.

I have never installed one fully but I have watched it being done, and I have replaced several parts myself. I think you are going about it in the right way...

  • 4 months later...

I am going to be doing this anything to add? would like step by step as easy as possible!:D
