The project in well and truly underway :smash:

Today I finished fabricating the template for the drivers side exhaust manifold, taken about 3-4 hrs but I am happy with the fit and the shape - I think! Pictures are posted and before anyone moans about the welding they are rough tacks and I am not a trained welder

I think the path around the back of the engine will just squeeze in I hope as it flows nicely to the passenger side. I am about to start on the drivers side which will be tricky as it has to run along side the feed from the passenger side before the meet where the aircon pump sits.

The turbo arrived today to, it's big and going to be a squeeze to fit in :smash:

I will keep adding to the thread and my ride as it progresses.

im not an expert so feel free to dismiss my observations but I think the lower pipe is too close to teh pulley, your gona melt the belts, maybe not, but a possibility. And the PS Pumps gone get warm. but just my observations from what I see.

Comments welcome, the exhaust will be fully covered in wrap to keep the heat in as it helps keep the pressure up to drive the turbo. When the PS is fitted there is quite a big gap.

There are some very sharp angles at the bottom of the turbo, are these staying on the final pipes? Because I feel the gasses wil not like them too much.

Great effort though. Braver man than me.

All the bends will be smoothed out, with the sheer amount of cutting and welding already to smooth bends would have doubled it. Janspeed have the machines to bend tube so it's easier for them.

looks like it could work mate...your going to hate me for this but i would have used household sink waste pipe for the intial fabrication (the solvent type) as it would of been a lot easir and you could of got a wide selection of radius bends;) fair play to you mate its a great project and i wish you luck bud

Never thought about that, good idea mate. Only thing is would be difficult to find something for the manifold flanges and joining them and to make it 100% solid. Also solid enought to support the weight of the turbo in position without any help. But see where your coming from, would of be ALOT easier.
