Stillen Short shifter...

I'm trying to install a stillen short shifter... I might have a problem. Half of the rubber piece from the part called "shifter support plate" sits on top of the stillen assembly.. Is it supposed to be like that?

 

A bit difficult to explain but there are some pictures on 300zxclub.com. It seems like I can't post any pictures here anymore or PM. Can't even edit MY RIDE section anymore?? Here is the link:
