my insurance runs out at the end of this month, but obviously the car dont look like it did last year . i have just had a quote from luke at sky insurance for £651. this includes all below.

fully comp for me & the wife (the latter could be a really bad move )

£350 excess

courtesy car

£15k agreed value ( the max they go to, but wanted nearer 20k )

includes all mods for 500+rwhp

3k limited mileage

does that sound reasonable ?

Did you try Livingstones Warman? For me, for an additional 130 pounds I got 20k agreed valuation, 6k miles pa. Although excess is 500 pounds.

thanks for the reply barry. ive been with them for the past year but as a standard import tt. im awaiting a call back from them with a quote inc all mods with an agreed 18k over the phone, but would need to get a valuation from the zclub which i told them could be more. will see what they come back with. they wanted £460 just for renewal though, which i thought was over the top this year

Don't sound too bad apart from the milage limit.

I barteres with the underwriters at my original insurance company (when the sales people eventually put me through to them)

I got unlimited milage £18K agreed value with all mods declared, But it costs me £800 per anum

mark. the mileage dont bother me as its only going to be used in summer, or a very dry day throughout winter. its a second car anyway.

I have 4 cars and still manage to rack up 7k a year on my blue Zedster.

My main SWB NA has done 11K since August and my pickup has done 12K since Jan 07 and 15K in the C70 and all by me. Little red did about 1K before head butting a tree so awaiting fixing.

So 3K would be no good to me. I do 30K a year just going to work and back.

mine is a daily driver and i only do 5k a year lol

The three biggest factors for insurance quotes is the Vehicle, Your age and your NCB/Claim history.

So not really possible to say wether a quote is reasonable without all the info. Does seem like a good price though when you consider the agreed value and all the mods.

according to them, the main thing was engine mods really. both drivers are 35+, no points, no convictions, no claims, full NCB. i did have a claim on the car this year but was dealt with by solicitor & was non fault, so it doesnt count.

right. had a reply back from existing insurers today. same cover as in first post other than 18k value & im presuming the excess will be £500. quoted £601 :hyper:

thats a good price that, it has to be worth it with all the work you've done on it.
