Blending fibreglass vents into the poly bumper, can it be done?

Thinking about some vents for IC exit ducts, but want to know if anyone has successfully blended fibreglass into the poly bumper, without it cracking?

They are going to get some proper flex in them as I live in London, and those speed bumps make good ramps :)

Thanks, the only thing is mine will get regular flexing because of the road humps in London, whereas Mac has the pleasure of nice open roads.

Do you want it for looks of function ? If just function then I would vent the inner archliners instead.

They wont crack if you bond them with the correct stuff mine have been fitted for 6 years and they are still fine I would have to ask Peter from PPS what he used

That does not work the turbulence that the front wheels create when spinning round inside the arches force the air back through.PeterR did a lot of research on this before he designed the exit ducts.

Thats very interesting. I've been planning to vent the archliners for a while now, but had mixed opinion on it. There are theorys out there about the turbulance affecting the air pressure could render the venturi affect useless, and although a few had done the mod nobody had ever proven either way.....

Its good to see that somebody has tested it and proven it does'nt work though. Saves me the trouble. Thanks Ian. :)

TBH mine were only fitted for function and I do remember the car did feel more responsive (as silly as it may sound) as the hot air could exit much faster and help to reduce the charge temp. I have to say I am not that keen on the way they look and would much prefer not having them stuck there if I could get away with it..

yup mine were also done by Peter @ PPS, same front bumper as Mac.

Thinking again, are the edges of those vents blended with the bumper or does the vent sit on top of the bumper with no visible join?

The vents I am looking at are different, and would be on the inside of the bumper.
