Anybody know if the box behind the glove box is the heater or for the aircon? I need to remove it to get the old loom out and new one in:headvswal:smash:

Blower motor, air con box, heater box.

All three boxes are about the same size (blower a little smaller) with the heater box sitting central behind the centre of the dash.

Middle box contains the air con rad, compressor is under the passanger side of the engine driven by the bottom pully.

How can I get the air con box off to get at the efi loom behind?

Loosen the blower motor unit. I presume you've disconnected the AC lines on the bulkhead and taken the cover plate off and removed the grommet?

Not yet as I wasn't going for the full removal yet, I was hoping it was possible to get enough off to get at the loom as that is this job in hand. Let me guess your going to say the lines have to come off to move the crap behind?

Correct lol. To get the box out enough the cover plate and grommet need to come out so.......

Thought so. Is it worth putting it back or is this separate from the heater system ie demister etc?

It will have to be put back or the blower won't work lol. No need to regass though if you're removing the aircon (obviously)
