Rear disks are about shot at on my car.

Badly pock marked/scarred and quite worn so im thinking of replacing them.

Whats the best to go for, still using standard rear calipers. Ive not an unlimited budget, but i dont mind spending the money if its worth it.

This is inline with a brake system overall, rebuilt calipers, new front disks and pads, and new rear pads at least and braided brake lines all round.

So i need advice on the best Rear Disks + Pads to go for.

I was thinking new standard disks and mintex pads, seem to be available for about £25 for the rear? Or should i not bother and find something better.

Cheers Guys!

you have the R34 calipers all around?

I would be looking for £1k for the 4 calipers + disks + pads id have thought. I'll be honest i cant afford that.

I already have smithys big brake kit on the front. Wasnt really looking to change the rear calipers unless someone can find me some cheap ;)

ah yes i remember the topic.

SO can anyone find me a set of R33/R34 GTR calipers quick look on ebay and all i could find was a pair of fronts from australia with a starting bid of 480 + 50 postage or so

If you already have a big brake kit on the front, and the car is standard, surely it must pull up OK. Macs car is knocking out 560 bhp (I think) and that is why the need for some serious stopping equipment. Personally if your car is standard and already with bigger front discs, I would go for a set of direct replacement grooved and drilled rears with new pads, of which most people go for the 'red stuff' type.

Whos got what on the rear, i did see some black diamond ones for sale at somepoint. Cant remember where though.

Oldzed - might not be standard ish forever LOL will need good anchors at some point - i'll be honest ive got a thing for good brakes!

My son Jimmer's car is knocking out about 426 bhp (poss more now) and he has a big brake kit on the front and std rears, that pulls up great. My car is now knocking out about 400 ish and I am fitting a big brake kit on the front and G&D's type rears. If you are going for big power then a total brake upgrade like Mac has done is thoroughly recommended. A good value set of rears I found is at potn.com where G&D's are about £150.

Very true there is no real need to spend over 2k on a set of AP Racing front brakes when a car is pushing a little over stock performance but I had no choice.

Snoopy had some black diamond brake equipment for sale, not sure if he still has them, send him a PM

As you know I can sort you out with stock sized DBA rear discs to go with your fronts and Porterfield pads.

Discs: £210

Pads: £65

P+P: £15.00

All in stock.
