i,v got the u shape trim for the back window with the 2 plastic corner pieces ,how easy is it to replace with the window still in place ,and any tips if possible

those are easy to replace,they just push in and some washing up liquid will help. It's the top part that's bonded to the glass ;)

cheers buddy is that the same with the plastic corner bits?

for the corners there is a tab they slide onto, you may be able to slide them on but if not, cut away the back of the plastic corner trim and sikaflex them in place.

How much did the trim set you back if you don't mind me asking?

i think its about the same again for the top strip

That's just a joke, The moulding for the sides and bottom isn't even a complicated extrusion, surely somewhere will have the same pattern on a large roll and just cut off what you need. I can't see it being to difficult to find on another car.
