Reverse lights not working

Is there anything obvious I should check if the reverse lights dont illuminate on the back of the car? Fuses etc ? Its in for an mot tomorrow and I assume thats an mot failure ?

    Mine didn't work for years - it was the switch on the gearbox which, apparantly, is the same one as fitted to a Nissan Cabstar (switch that is :D )

     

    Changed it when my gearbox came out for a clutch and flywheel change :D
