Hi there,

I´ve just "put my headlights in parts", want to paint the inside in carcolour.

The passengersside projector lense is far away from an accurate fitting,

I always thought it´s because of the accident, the last owner had.

But now I see, its mounted well, nothing broken etc inside...

Is it normal??? the lense is around 1cm outside of the middle(of the hole from the plastic I want to paint). It looks toward the middle of the car. The PS light shows near to the Dsidelighting point at night...

The driversside fits well in the centre...

Can someone please look at his Z and tell me?

Thanks, Patrick

Your lights will be pointing the opposite way to ours Patrick ;)

If your lights were ok before I'd leave them alone.

You can adjust them later anyway, just make sure the adjusters are all still working. If not, now is the time to fix them.

Have you had the car through your equivalent of our MOT test?

I assume the lights alignment would be checked then.

Is the car a genuine Euro or US import car? or is it a UK spec?

Only thing I can think of is that either the whole light or the lense is from a UK spec car and that the projector lense has been ajusted to compensate for the UK spec Glass/outer lense. If that makes sense to you.

Hope it works:

On the pics you can see that looks kinda unnatural, the lightbeam centers also to the middle, doesn´t light at the point, he should...

Still normal?

I'd say that they just need ajusting and setting up properly at a testing station if you have them in Austria and that your head lights must be poor if it is so out of focus.

Thanks a lot for your help, and I have to apologize, just found out, what the problem was!

Some little plastic thing (doesn´t look like its from the inside) disturbed the side adjustment, which made me think, I cannot adjust more to right. With a little brutality

(didn´t destroy anything *puuha*) I could get it out and now i can center the lense.

Will make it light the street up right tomorrow...

My carcolour"conversion" took me only 3hours, including the painting, tomorrow a half and its done. Looks really great, though my car is darkblue.

Thanks again and sorry for making a senseless thread... :(

Greetings, Patrick
