have you recently delimited the car?

Speedo working okay?

Recently chipped the car?

TT or NA, Jap or UK? Manual/Auto?

These cars have variable assistance on the power steering, so lighter at low speeds and heavier at higher, possible this system isnt working. Been talked about alot on here in the past - Search is a good place to look.

o.k pump is working think its to do with the steering wheel being loose and also the 19's on the car so gona try the 17's again an see if that helps it!!!!

i dont think the wheels will make that much difference to be honest scottie, are you sure the belt is ok to the pump?

Power steering assist amplifier - takes a speed signal in and applies a varing amount of power to the steering solenoid. Make sure that the solenoid is OK and still connected (on the steering rack)

There is an electrical connector underneath going on to the rack, that contols the variable inputs etc. try taking apart and cleaning the terminals, works for me!
