Car is jacked up at the moment - Im changing the shocks....prob is I cant release the front springs!! the bolt holding them just will not undo:( im using a grip spanner to hold the top of the thread and a 17mm to loosen it but it just does not move!!

dont undo the centre nut on the car or you will never get them off ! undo the two nuts either side of the centre 14 mm and the shocker will drop down and off if you hav removed the bottom nut 17mm ! then apply the spring compressers and undo the centre nut to remove the spring !!!

If you cant get the nut off and your changing the shocks then you wont have to worry about damaging the old shocks so: lay the shock on the ground, get a pair of swan necks on the shock shaft and keep it gripped with your foot while you undo the nut with the spanner,... you will scratch the shock shaft but it doesnt matter coz they are being chucked :)
