Maybe its time we adapted the same attitude. i truly am sick of talking to people i work with + as soon as someone from their land arrives, they both drop into slovak/ german/double dutch,My asian manager was the first to highlight this annoying practise!

the thing is - all this does is divide the country up. where I used to work was incredibly diverse, and all celebrations were respected - we had Divali lights up which were cool, Eid Mubarak was celebrated and any muslims there would share their food round to everyone, Chinese New Year, even Christmas, you name it, and this really pulled everyone together and not one person complained.

The thing is i do not know one muslim (and in Rotherham we have a great many muslims) who are offended by Christians and do not accept Christmas (our asian supermarket trims up at xmas ffs)

 

I do not know one Muslim/ hindu or member of any other faith who takes exception to the flag of St George.

 

I do know, that because of a certain few do- goooders that fear offending any one, the ethnic minorities, members of other faiths are losing their rights to speak because the do-gooders are doing it for them, without knowing the minorities true opinions.

 

Its because of these do gooders there is hostility between the communities of other faiths and persons such as myself, a christian.

 

I personally think that this tension is created by a minority that are so scared and tip toe around other cultures/ faiths, when the very people they were trying not to offend, were never actually offended in the first place!

Lets fast forward to last weekend, i sold an old renault laguna, with no tax and no MOT for £128 on ebay. Declared as spares or repair, will have to be towed/trailered away! I thought that was perfectly clear enough until the auction ended and guess what - A polak on the other end of the phone. For the love of good i thought, well lets give em one last chance. So after saying they would be at mine at half 8, it was half 10 when they arrived all three of them by taxi, expecting to drive this car home they had bought for £128...

So when i explained them it was illegal to drive in england with no tax, insurance or MOT they threatened to call the police on me for trying to sell them an illegal car.

 

In hindsite i wish they would have called them now, because i could only pray that they didnt have documents and there would be three little polacks on their way back to where they came from!

 

another note to add, also just sold a pair of graphics cards to a polak, whos decided they dont want them now so never again will I deal with a none english person!

I was on a course / tests for a couple of days last week to gain a ATA accreditation as a panelbeater ( been doing it 26 years and now they want qualifications !! ) , had to drive to manchester 2 days on the trot , anyway part of this course involved a welding test to make sure we were upto British Standard , passed it all . :hyper:

Yesterday we have a guy turn up at our work place to do the British Standards welding test on the polish beaters we have . they both fail misserably and today they were allowed to carry on welding on cars !!!!

We have several Polish workers at our place, and in all honesty, they are damn good workers ! In fact, one of them has resprayed my last Corvette, front bumper on my Zed and my Camaro I have at present !!
