does anybody know if uk road tax for my 1991 300zx is going to shoot up with this new budget??

· From 2009, major reform of the vehicle excise duty. For new cars from 2010, the lowest-polluting cars will pay no road tax in the first year. Higher-polluting cars will pay more.

 

· Funding set aside for road-pricing proposals.

 

· 2p increase in fuel duty is postponed until October this year.

 

· For environmental reasons, fuel duty will rise by 0.5p per litre in real terms in 2010.

 

 

 

By the looks of things, it only affects NEW cars.... ours are anything but new! :D

Generally it's only post March (I think) 2001 - that's when cars started being rated in kg/CO2 per mile etc.

I think its disgusting the way the Labour party are treating people like us, The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Gordon Brown needs to wake up and see the corruption in this country, if petrol prices do go up that much and road tax with it this country will come to a big stand still and i'll be joining the millions of people in a pottition in thier quest for a better standard of life, if we dont fight back NOW our kids are gonna have nothing to look forward to and i dont know about the rest of you but i for 1 wont be able to afford to get to work, never mind run a zed, and i only use it on a weekend. I think i'm gonna start saving some pennys and once my other half is trained to be a nurse (in a year and a half) i'm gonna take her and my son to austrailia to live, and i will be taking the zed, right i'd better go and get a coffee to calm myself down. :rant: rant over :mad:

That's the link to pricing, anything before march 91 has a fixed rate based on engine size, anything after that is done on emissions now
