Right ive had a long think of what i need to rebuild my engine.

Im about to order from zedworld in ths US:

Engine rebuild kit. $1.275:

-Wiseco forged pistons with new rings

-Complete Nissan Engine Gasket Kit

-New Nissan Oil Pump

-New Nissan Water Pump

-New Nissan Timing Belt

-New Nissan Rod and Main Bearings (you are responsible for providing grades)

-12 New Nissan Freeze Plugs

-12 New Nissan Connecting Rod Bolts

1 engine mount $99.00

2 pcv hoses that i need $30

2 1/2 moon rear valve seals $6

postage $162

works out to almost £800

I was going to purchase valve stem seals and rear main seal but they are included in the gasket set as ive just come off the phone to them, they said they will throw in the half moons wow great deal thats like £3 :mac1:

im guna call them and see what else they can gimme.

Do you think theres anything im missing?

and i really cant decide on either stock 270 turbo thrust bearing or the 360 bearing.

i know theres not much point in having a t25 that can creat much more pressure as it will just be superheating the air and will prob decrease power but then again when i get bigger intercoolers and injectors il be kicking myself :( i duno

Order the egr bypass kit,

Delete the prvr system

Delete the aiv's,

Plenum bypass on cooling for the turbos

Clear out the rear water channels on the block

Get the block checked to see if it is straight and get it skimmed

Skim the heads

Maybe new oil pump

Think about the 120k cambelt kit

Think about getting the injectors reconned as this maybe why the pistons went west in the first place.

Also the clutch may be on it's last legs or soon could be with new power levels of your rebuilt engine while it is out it may be worth replacing?

Yeah ive asked scott to bypass and remove that lot, the aiv's are already done.

clear the rear water channels???? never heard of that one, u mean clean them?

getting new oil pump

cambelt was just changed by scott like a week ago.

Will check the injectors for definate

:D

Think im guna order all that lot except the bearings, il let scott do that :)

anything else?

If you are paying to get them checked it is not really any extra cost to get them reconned.

The extra flashing is in the block, the freeze plugs have to be removed and then they are filed away!

you talking about the water channels?

If you are paying to get them checked it is not really any extra cost to get them reconned, this refers to the injectors.

The rebuild kit comes with the freeze plugs so im assuming they are being done as standard.

And yes il get the injectors reconned sounds like a must.

Don't assume anything, putting in new freeze plugs does not mean he will clear the water channels as in the rest of the list I supplied.

Nice wee shopping list u got there!!!

What turbos / boost you gonna be running?

I reckon you'll get stung for ~£200 on that lot, and it'll be a big box so the chances of it 'missing' customs are zip..

Thanks for that boost of confidence there:) :mac1: oh and i told them to reduce the value of the package and put it down as a gift ::)

Im having the stock turbos rebuilt and balanced but have not decided if im guna fit 360 thrusts in there yet....... hmmmmm

if they'll decalre it lower that be good. if it goes via USPS then parcel force recieve it this end pay the duty on it for you and add their own handling fees on top of duty. UPS have their own corriers this side of the pond so it does stand a slim chance of slipping through the customs net. Go for the 360 bearings they are better for running higher boost(14psi) for longer so I understand without packing up so quickly and do not cost much more whilst the engine is out seems sensible

fingers crossed for me guys :S

Good luck mate! I'm sure I'll be touch for some advice as I'm about to rebuild mine for a special project, defo junking the standard tubs on mine :hyper:

Just out of interest why have you only ordered a couple of pcv hoses and you should not order the bearings until the engine is apart?

I have already replaced most of the pcv hoses apart from the rear one that i couldnt get to and the drivers side.

I spoke to scott and he said to order them grade of bearings and if a couple need different grades then he will do them for me. overall it will work out cheaper than waiting again for another shipment of bearings from z1. If i have some left over i can sell them on here :)

You'll never sell "odd" spare bearings.

What you do is tell Z1 to send everything except the bearings, once the block is stripped and you know the codes, tell z1 right away, they don't weigh a ton, fit in a small box so shipping is not expensive, you should have em within 8 days from order, 3 days if you courier them. Your builder wil have plenty to keep him going until they arrive.

Z1 stock pretty much every grade going, so most peeps happily pay an extra 20 quid or so shipping a small box over when it's needed. This way theres no hassle in having the correct product or being left to sell summit that is only of half use to someone!

IMO and having sold around 10 of those rebuild kits ;) .
