As i was shopping in Brighton, i got Wrong turn turn 2 dvd, Next to it was a film i havent watched in years and probably never will.

American werewolf in London. I know this is bowlocks compaired to todays stuff, but i was 13 when i first watched it, scared the pants off me, 3 days later i did my first ever night carp fishing session on my own. So there i was fishing, at night, on own and with a bloody full moon too. All night i was convinced that a pair of red eyes were on the island in the lake that i was fishing too. Spent the whole night quivvering like a girl in my sleeping bag.

What i want to know is ?

What is your scariest film and why?

i like clever horror - not just cheap scares (like a cat or a bird suddenly leaping out). Ring is just nasty and very tense. The Shining is an absolute classic - mainly down to Jack Nickleson's amazing acting. i like the Fog - not scary as such but a good film. the Saw series are quite good - not scary but definately gory! (saw Saw IV the other day - definately the most gory!)

but my favourite has to be The Legend of Hell House (1977 i think) - low budget low tech, no special effects, but the whole film (thanks mainly to the sound effects and some weird camera angles) is relentlessly tense.

Exorcist for me i think

I didnt like Hostel either tho, wouldnt say it scared me but found it hard to watch

The Ring gave me shivers... I didn't mind it.

Which version though?

Watch the 1998 Jap version with english subtitles, not the later yank remake.

Couldnt look at the tv for days after that!

we went to the cinema to see saw 4 we both turned from the screen at the same time and banged heads, not that it's scary its just a bit gorry. We also went to see sweeney todd not having read any reviews or really knowing anything about it just thought a film about a demon barber would be pretty good OMG i almost topped myself when i got out i don't mind a musical but that just drove me mad..... What a load-a-S@@T

Blair witch did nothing for me, the best thing about the film was my mums boyfriends flatulence in the cinema.

Aliens - watched it when I was about 10 scared the snot out of me.

Jaws- Still hate deep sea swimming

Event horizon - Freaky

Event horizon - Freaky

I did not like that film..

One that really shit me up in a strange way was Solaris (George Clooney, 2002).. one of these days I'll watch the original from 1972 and see if it's as freaky.

Chucky and It (with the clown)

The Shinning,

Don't look now....(Donald Sutherland....and a little child in a red rain coat!!!)

The Ring (1st one)

My phone rang half way through and i really did not dare pick it up!

no it wasnt, i dread to think, if its scarier, what my mental state would now be lol.

I dont like Gory films but that one was eerie as fook!

Then you have not lived lol!

The japanese one is soooo much better

Dark as foook and no yank teenie tits lol

anything thats like real life stuff ......like 28 days/weeks later or dawn of the dead and charlie and the chocolate factory .....cos im worried by midgets

Jaws still makes me wary of swimming in the sea,

Exorcist is dated, but stil creepy,

Most Zombie films are entertainment,

Blair Witch was ok, but nothing special,

The original Jap version of The Ring was the best,

The Thing was great at the time,

It, has made me cringe from clowns all my life,

But as far back as I can remember, I was always scared by

Occult type stuff, Omen, The Devil Within Her, etc.

Alan...........

I've seen both, but watched them in the wrong order. American, then Japanese version.

oh yeah - The Grudge was nasty as fook, and obviously a rip-off of Ring. little nasty jap girl ghosts with long hair covering their eyes - there's a name for them, cant remember what it is (is it Yuri or something?).

Blair Witch i think was quite atmospheric and is only scary if you really concentrate and let yourself get drawn in.

Event Horizon is just nasty in some places - especially when the ship goes to hell, fooked me up for a week after watching that!

as for Ring - ive seen US and Jap versions of both 1 and 2 (Ring and The Ring), and Audition was watchable but not scary.

Audition was awesome...

kiri kiri kiri kiri!
