yep - first time i did a full service, took about a day and a half - entirely because I didn't have some tools and had to piss around 'making' something... off the top of my head, think the problem was i didn't have any 1/4" allen head bits, and my 1/2" ones wouldn't get to a couple of bolts on the water pipes.

If you read through all the guides and make sure you've got all the tools to hand, you should find it pretty straightforward.

thanks for the responses guys - he contacted me in the end and took a look at it. turns out its the rubber hoses at the front of the engine so hopefully thats good news.

Suggest you also replace the steel stub pipes that connect the rubber pipes to the heads - they rust through.

yeah its Mickey thats done/doing the work on the Z. been very hard to get hold of him over the last few months - i think he's moving house and one thing or another. in the end i gave up and went to try someone else but he came round to look at the water leak and will hopefully be replacing the hoses/pipes over the next week
