well apart from the odd coil here and there needing replaced, brake calipers, Hicas removed, Oil cooler rad fins bent, sump dented (previous owner grounded possibly), Centre propshaft doughnt broken ? (sussed the vibration from gear box).

nothing sort of big big priced until........(advised)

both rear inner sill's corroded.

Big oil leak (possible rear main oil seal).

now the guy has said the rear oil seal is approx 16hours labour and also said he reckons the sills been done once already so its pointless doing it again.

I'm so stuck right at this moment what ya think? :headvswal

16 hours for the lot I'd say, not just the oil seal, he's taking this piss big time

Get on to some of the guys on here that know what they are on about

ok update just spoke to him as its doing my head in and heres the other parts lol:

2/6 coil packs need replacing

sump pan dented

oil leak possible rear oil seal

both rear inner seals corroded

front oil cooler rad fins bent

centre propshaft dooughnt broken

exhaust blowing

tires wrong speed rating and some cracks

caliper binding on n/s/f

both rear discs badly corroded pads ok

track rod ends on read got some play

Yeah one of the mechanical types like duffer, jimmer or legarth will know how long it should take to do the seal.

Not sure about the inner sills though.

Just an offer for when you have the other stuff done.

Good luck with it.

Darrell

me and my dad rebuilt my rear sills, it cost me a crate of stella

pity you were not closer, could have asked for a price for ya

doubt youd need the coilpacks replacing especially all of them shame your not closer the rear main can be done in around 4 hours gear box out flywheel off sump dent wouldnt worry about too much unless your seeing oil starvation on the old oil guesometer sills any good welder or landrover owner lol would be able to sort that oil cooler fins bent well unless its totalled i dont think ive ever seen one that hasnt had bent fins id find another garage tbh

see you making the sill problem alot lighter now they were making it out as a scrap it job lol or they just dont have passion in thier work lol.

Calling all sillmenderpeople lol

probably dont like welding or the fact theyre not very good at welding lol ive done a afew sets now on a uk spec tt wasnt the worst but still tidy job got the panels from middletons but luke at z center sells them too

haha 16 hours for a rear main seal. nexus is doing mine and quoted 4 hours.

take your car elsewhere.

mate just get them all done and be done with it.

mine had alot more things wrong with it when i bought it.

it still has. But then again i bought it as a project so i expected it.

yeah this is what this is J1mmytt but they feed ya so much bullshit nowadays almost expected him to try sell me a car from his forecourt haha

ive seen my dad rebuild floors with a mig welder, he is very good, he built an exhaust for an old monza using lots of other old exhausts that he has i his shed, took the cazr for an mot and the tester asked for an exhaust to be made for his mk2 escort lol

Hi mate

Sounds like you need to get it in somewhere else. They probably dont have much experience of the zed and also cant be a&sed to fix it, alot of places just over inflate the price hoping you might go away cos its not easy. If you can be bothered to come down South I can recommend Sussex Performance Cars in Horsham they have mine in for a rebuild at the mo and are very very good at engine and mechanicals. They send the car out for body work mine has just come back from the sprayers and they sort it all out also I have supplied all the parts from the states. Worth the drive if you can be bothered. P.S. MJP do coils for around 30quid so dont let them rip you off.

the guy said look at this, and points to the sill (textured) and says its textured coz its been replaced already. I nearly said "what the whole length of the car".

looks like a nice job done there man.

its texured cause its stonchip paint, most zeds have this on, especially uk cars, ifyou notice my front andrear bumpers had it on

the guy is spouting shite, tell him stella said "fook off, your a cock"

also that meatal is from the first ever blubirds built in sunderland

it will never rust again, ever lol

also if you notice, on one of the pics there is a tube sticking out of the bottom, it is the tube that carries the rain down from the targa's, this had been pushed up in mine and had been filled over, hence the rotting, i pulled it down and gripfilled it sticking out, so when i put the kit on, it wouldnt be in contact with any of the metal sill

Need to get under the car to have a good look really but the ramps i used for other cars dont work on this coz its to god damn low and StellaZ you made me laugh ma balls off, you know how to lighten the moment lol.

pmsl, i use normal ramps and reverse it on, but first i reverse it onto long bits of 3x2 wood, it gives you the height needed to clear the ramp

just remember to put the back when dropping it off the ramp lol

looks like am hitting the lumber yard tomorrow then, you know I never even though of that, spose its from the long day off working in Essex clearing all the yobs needles from my fresh plants!!! lol
