I have just bought another 300zx twin turboto drive whilst i work on my other one.

However it has a couple of problems i need to fix although car drives ok.

The car sometimes revs on its own sometimes at 1500rpm sometimes more and i have no idea why.

Also if i give car a big boost loads of smoke (oil smoke) comes out the battery side of the engine not sure where from, someone told me there is a breather down there that gets blocked but i'm not sure?

Can anyone shine any light on these problems as i have no idea, i took it to a mechanic and he doesnt know why it revs.

Perhaps someone can move this to help and advise??

The Idle Control Valve may need cleaning. There are guides on doing this. You litterally pull the pipe off it and spray carb cleaner in there!!

Im not sure about the oil leak. WHat colours the smoke? Does it smell oily? As theres a overflow pipe from the aircon there that can leak onto the exhaust?

Moved it anyway - wasn't really much good in the NA tuning forum lol

Exactly! And the only advice I would give in the NA section is .... "remove the turbos.... completely"

:):):)

clean the throttle position sensor connectors, this happened to mine a few days last week, unplugged the connector to the sensor (black box on passenger side of throttle bodies) and sparay some electrical contact cleaner (halfords sell it) on the pins. wipe dry and plug back in, job done
