A bit of a technical question for anyone who knows the answer for sure!

What are the symptoms (and NO, I'm not talking about the yellow skinned family from Springfield!!! ;) ) if the ECU Water Temp Sender fails? As in, it is telling the ECU that the water is permanently COLD! And how could this be tested?

Thanks in advance!

Lumpy eratic running, especially on idle: normally just the connections corroded. clean or replace. Yellow one is ecu sender black is temp gauge.

If the ECU receives no signal from the Temp sender then the Aux fan will come on. If its receiving an incorrect reading then the best way to tell is with a Conzult or Datascan.

Doesn't it overfuel as well because it thinks the engine is cold?

Interesting, and I appreciate your time/input, but what happens when the engine actually is cold then? I'm thinking along the lines of reducing revs/ turbo boost! More boost though, as in when you run the Zed from cold you get the reduction in boost, but can still floor it and increase revs (not that I'm suggesting you should do that!! ;) )
