Hello again,

I would like to take away the grey "heatshield", that is mounted

on the inside of the engine hood. - Just for better looks, - maybe

do some mirror-foil there (if my english is understood :mac1: )

Does it give problems with the paint outside the hood? Does the hood

get to hot? (Austria has a higher average-temp. than the UK)

Thanks in advance, Patrick

hi Patrick, take a look at beegeevinz's ride section, he has done his with chrome plating and it wont cause any problems with the paint.

Lots have done, with no noticable paint damage but its probably something that would take many years to show if it ever does.

I'd say its more for noise insulation.

One "amusing" side effect of removing the heatshield is that on rainy days your bonnet will look like it is smoking (it is just evaporating rain water) but the looks you get from passers-by is priceless!

 I can't think of a better reason to do it, that that!

I like that!

The problem is, I love my car, try, not to use it when it rains

I guess I´m gonna start raindriving :D

It is not there for paint protection. It's purely for sound deadening. Most decent spec cars have sound deadening under the hoods. Primeras, Quashqis etc have the same.

Heres a pic of under vinz bonnet.

You might need sunglasses though.

It very well might do,but it looks shite lol. ;)

Yeah how is it going after you went round silverstone with a turbo on fire?

Glad to see you back on the road. It's probably lighter than all that chrome as well.

Disco-Stew´s äähhhh I mean beegeeVinz´s hood is quite cool, have to do that

(guess the enginebling was more expensive than my whole ride)

How does it sound when the bonnet is naked?
