would you be interested in like a group buy? for what ever alarm your interested in? or if you already have a new alarm maybe he will still install it for you. i can always ask suppose its better if someone he knows asks instead of someone he dont

Thee Best Security There Is lol

Im sure i can see a bit of room left on the dash vinz ;)

ok... iv just phoned him and the prices for an import 300zx cat 1 sigma 30 alarm and immobiliser as Forge300Zx has just had fitted is £250 +vat (about 295 quid) + £25 quid door motor charge + fuel money to travel to stansted! thats a basic setup... any extras such as microwave prox sensors etc bump the price up.

maybe mario can help as to whether this is a good price or not?

umm. your looking around the £400 mark then. looking at it realistically, it should take no longer than 6 hours to fit that lot. thats the alarm, cdl motor & microwave sensor. lets say £20-25 hr labour £120-150, alarm £120, cdl motors are £15 & dual zone microwave £35. thats £290-320 fitted. so the rest will be for fuel and markup on item. i personally think his price is on the high side, plus "sorry to all who have sigma" i definately would not touch sigma with a bargepole after the amount of these i have ripped off and thrown in the bin.

TOAD or LASERLINE CAT1s would be my choice all the way. i paid £90 for my ai606 & £32 for a dual zone microwave, so you would be better off buying your own components off ebay/internet and have them fitted by someone in your own area, but make sure that they ARE VSIB REGISTERED FIRST.

one more VERY IMPORTANT THING. regardless of what you maybe told by cowboys, a cat1 "IS NOT" a cat1 unless ALL components it comes with are fitted, this INCLUDES ULTRASONICS, A MICROWAVE, OR BOTH. if an alarm is supplied with just ultrasonics, you cant just have a microwave fitted and not fit ultrasonics, otherwise your insurance can refuse to pay out on a claim and void your policy if its spotted. SO BEWARE, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

I used to have a Sigma on a previous car and had no problems with it - never gave any problems in many years use.

Toad and Sigma are manufactured by the same company.

thanks for the heads up mario :) would be nice to know what other experiences people have had with sigma alarms... then again for some1 who installed alarms for a living you cant get much more experience than that ;) might be a reason why i cant find very many, if any other sigma suppliers...

you must be one of the lucky ones then.

its only recently that toad bought out sigma, so was not the same company at all.

i agree with you saying it will be cheaper to get someone local to fit it that takes travel expences off the price ,

i cant really agree when you say that sigma are no good, ive had toad , laserline and clifford on my cossy which i had in 98 the car was stolen with the clifford 1st and then when i had toad it was stolen again police told me that the 1st was done by shorting the alarm through the indicators and the second was stolen by using some sort of code reader??

when i had a sigma fitted the theiving lil barstewards moved 3 cars that was parked round it and tried lifting it onto a lowloader when they failed to get past the sigma and thats why i choose to use them, ive had told alarm on other cars but not by choice and had problems with false alarms , but like i said before they might of got better since ive had them,

so for me its down to personel choice from my own experience :)

i see what you are saying, but an alarm is only as good as how its installed. if you install it within easy reach, then its made easy for theives. i have fitted alarms/immobilisers for over 15 years, so theres not one person on here that can tell me anything other than personal preference. im just telling you from experience. sigma & clifford have always been over rated & overpriced IMO, and you would not believe the amount of them ive thrown away. at the end of the day, if they want to take it, they will. ;)

They were both owned by this parent company http://www.tgplc.com however have now been sold (i believe) to Scorpion.
