Boost Issues!!

Just installed a nice new frontmount intercooler but now the engin kind off splutters when she trys to boost up and jerk and backfire a little (or try to)!!

 

anyone got any ideas, its got a boost controler and has been remaped.... im stuck!!

it sounds to me like you have a boost leak. check for a leak some where in your vac lines and intercooler connections using a boost leak detector

Some of the lookalike front mounts have rough surfaces on the inlet and outlet pipes and it may pay you to take the hoses back off and stick some silicone poop on first before fitting them back on to seal them.

well i could give that a go but the pipes were REALLY on there...PLus its a ******* to get the bumper on and off again!!

If its an Ebay jobbie then the Jubille clamps it comes with are useless and has possibly blown one of the intercooler pipes off.

also if there silicone hoses warm the car up then tighten up the clamps as the silicone is softer when warm and the clamps tighten up just a little more making a better seal

its sounding more and more like a boost leak.... will have to do some more work on it....
