I was driving no more thaN 2O MPH at bout 1pm today when a girl reversed out of a parking space causing me to spank the rear right of her bumper. i quickly ran after some young bloke who seen it and asked him to be a witness i took his number.

 

when i got back to the scene she was shouting f'ing and blinding, she wasnt happy.

she said why wearnt you looking where you were going couldnt you see i was pulling out??? What the fook???

she said its not her fault..... has she gone mad?.

i asked for her deatails but she wouldnt give me them and atempted to drive off so i had to stand behind her car to prevent her from getting away. at this point i rang the police, and vola she started to co-operate. i handed her the phone to the police she said it was my fault. but i had already told the police she tried to drive away and it was happening while i was on the phone to the police.

She eventually calmed down and we swaped details.

she said she had just sold the car and was buying a bmw and that this would mess up her insurance. AH now i see.

she offered me 100 quid to call it even. has she gone insane? thats not guna cover it. I said its guna cost more than that love. So i said il get a quote and let her know the damages and she can decide to go through insurance or not.

 

Ive been to my friends garage and he said it would cost £350 to get it sprayed. he then said if it was to go through insurance it would be priced with a new panel. which in total came to 185 for paint and 360 labour.

 

So its up to her whats shes happy to do.

i tried ringing her an hour ago to let her know the quotation but i left a message.

im so annoyed why cant people just admit to being in the wrong.

she knows it. I can see this one being a very long process.

 

When i pulled of it was obvious what she had done as my tyre was rubbing on the plastic cover under the arch, i had to get out and bend it back.

 

oh and guess what her name is????? TRACY

id go though insurance, incase there are any hidden costs or work you found needed doing and after her outburst id make sure it costs her as much as she can!!

Give her quote for new wing and Spray job...then get yourself a 2nd hand Silver wing for £30 :)

 

Reminds me of a few years back.....I was stopped in a que of cars in a supermarket car park once, and some dopey cow in a 4x4 in front of me reversed to let a car out of a space and straight into the front of my car while I was stationary.......when she got out she said she was'nt sure who's fault that was becuase normally its the car behinds fault when that happens...WTF ! :slap:

She's a stupid biatch for the way she tried to say it wasn't her fault and drive of FFS.

 

Get yours sorted and make sure she pays through the nose for it.

Sorry, but no sympathy for her.

I would say go throught the insurance and make her suffer, but as my best mate found out not too long ago, even if your in a collision where its decided not to have been your fault, your premium will go up purely because youve been in an accident, so you end up paying as well for something that isnt your fault.

 

If you can try and settle it without the insurance people getting involved, but get the money off her before you do anything! and make sure its cash!

Sorry to see this Fella.Dos'nt look to bad though.If you get a small bottle jack inbetween the inner skin and wing it should gentley push back out again.Then fill any little crease and get it wafted over.Put a folded towel on the wing end of jack so you spread the load abit.But still get a wedge off the women. :)

i also said. please let me know by 2mow morn before 11am so i have the 24 hours in which to contact my insurance about the incident.

Hmm She prolly made up the insurance details make sure you noted time, place and drew a diagram also go back and note cameras that were in the vacinity and make sure they are not duds and speak to the management to make a copy or keep for police/insurance purposes. hope you got the make model reg of her car in full also. Women tend to try getting out of it alot *no offense to women here* :P also there is no difference if its your fault or her fault details still have to be exchanged... Hope you get her sorted man that sorta crap pisses me off...

Yep.. Give her until your deadline, then cut off all communication, and go through insurance.. It's nice of you to give her the option of insurance or cash deal after having a rant at you.. I personally wouldn't have trusted her.

Try and do a cash deal and either repair the wing (does'nt look difficult, bee gee vinz method is a winner) or buy another wing like Legrath said, they are dead cheap and you can have it done yourself in half a day ;) Then keep the rest for yourself :D

If it was me, i would try for a cash deal spend £100 tops on second hand parts and do the work myself in less than a day. And judging from your threads you know your way around a spanner or two. :D Then pocket some cash.
