I have just bought my 1st 300zx on saturday. It is an import manual twin turbo. But with it being an import that is where the problem is!

It came to saturady night and when i switched the lights on only 2 out of the 4 came on. One of the main driving light bulbs is out and one of the side lights is out that is in the bumper.

I have spend a whole day driving from garage to garage to get some bulbs and not one of the places has even seen one of the bulbs i pulled out, never mind know where to get one.

Im from Sunderland in the north east and it would be much appreciated if anyone could let me know where to get 2 light bulbs from. Thanks.

I have never had a problem with bulbs. Even Halfords stocks them.

The sidelights are E501 and the dip bulbs are H3 (I think)...

the bulbs you need are called H3C's they cost £22 from nissan or you can get them on ebay for about £2 each, you'd better get a few though cos the other 1 wont be far behind.

thanks for the help. I went to halfords though, and with the main driving bulbs having only two prongs instead of 3, the guy said he didnt have a clue where i could get one.

Ill have a blast on ebay now and ill be able to see where im going in no time!

You wont find them at Halfords or general motor factors. The Uk car has H3 and is easy to get, but the H3c's fitted to Imports will not be stocked in the UK.

Ebay, Danny@DTA or Nissan dealer...prob some other online sites supplying them.

....OR.....fit H3 bulbs and do the conversion to make them fit, which involves added an earth....search site for specific instructions

no problem fella, make sure you have a look in the meets section and get to the next meeting, would be nice to see a new face.

For your reference:

JDM (Import) spec:

Dip-beam = H3C

Main-beam = H1

Fog-light = H3

Side-light (also inside fog-light housing) = capless 501 (5W)

I currently have plenty of H3C Xtreme White bulbs in stock (£15/pair plus £3.25 Recorded Delivery). These are of better quality than most ebay bulbs and available now. Also have H1 and H3 bulbs to match (both are £11/pair plus postage).

Regards,

Dan

You can use H3's in dipped with the conversion. all you need to do is earth the mounting plate.

similar to this

but I used the fuse bit holder from a standard plug and clamped the fuse holder bit to the mounting plate. easy to do. Also means you can use uprated bulbs.

And if you earth the one these bulbs to the body they saty on with the main beams

Changed to hids now
