my Z has started to squeel upon startup, it has a brand new battery and i have tightened up the tensioner,

 

The car squeels really loud for about 30 seconds and then when it goes the revs rise to about 2000 for another 30 seconds or so...

 

Whats causing this? Is something on its way out?

They can do. I bought one from ebay and it did nothing but squeel. Replaced it with a decent one and its been fine except for when the battery is low (ie left for several weeks)

Sounds like what andy said to me, fanbelt needs tensioning. ;)

power steering belt needs a bit of work but the other two can be got at from underneath

How do you tighten the Power steering belt then? I had a look under the car and couldnt see the adjuster for it. My squeel is really annoying but is definatly the power steering belt as belt slip stops it for a day or so.
