First one dyno'd in this country a few days ago and in standard form it made 520 bhp at the engine and 457 AWHP which aint to shabby for a completely standard car thats meant to be 480

with the launch control they can do 0-62 in 3.2 seconds out of the box

Automotive porn....Really does show that the japs can do if they put their mind to it...

Obviously the rising sun for the next few years is nissan - look at how subaru have ruined the impreza and mitsi arnt far beind with the evo - its just one version from going rubbish im convinced of it.

I think this new 370z will be one to watch - is middlehurst bringing these R35's in?

as we speak there are (reportedly) 20 Nissan garages around the country which will be trained to service and sell the new GTR and should be launched next year over here, no doubt middlehurst will be one of them for sure and no doubt one of the first ones from there will end up in Lancaster with Matt :) so cant wait for a go ;)

Just look at all that torque in the mid range!

To say I want one of these a lot, is an understatement...

That torque spread is fantastic. Its peak is so broad

VR38DETT in a Z32 ...MMMmmmmm Might be a tad pricey though

I'm going to have one of these in the next 18 months.

Are you on the waiting list already ?

£1000 to get your name on the list.

Is that for the UK car?? I intend to import as I'm sure you'll be able to save a fair amount.

So the answer to your question is no but I shall be starting to investigate it from now on as I want one and intend to have one.

I starting following a Thread on gtr.co.uk about this in december. Apparantly as long as its a Personal import, Nissan will standy by its warranty, they are attempting to block grey import dealers however.

The Jap version is missing a lot of the "toys" - TV, satnav..etc and they reckon your only looking at a £5k saving and you could end up with an R35 that nobody else wants when you try to sell on. UK otr price is supposed to be circa £55k

I havent checked back on the thread though, so maybe there is more news recently.

If you buy new in japan you can have anything fitted and I wouldn't want TV or satnav anyway. but in few months to a years I'll have a lot of money burning a hole in my pocket and I intend to have some fun and this is on my must have list. Even if i import and then sell after 6 months. also if they are saying £5K it will most likely be closer to £10

Another option is a nearly new import from japan. Reckon they would be a decent saving there.

At the moment however there is nobody in the UK trained to work on the GTR, not normally a problem but there is lots of talk of it not being OBDII complient, but having its own Interface.

A lot to look into. If all sounds too dodgy I'll have to wait for a secondhand UK car, but I'm not paying UK prices for a new car on principle. You loose £5K as soon as you put number plates on it. How can anyone justify that.

please do me a favour and let me know cost of importing one... I spoke to nissan in the uk a coupla months ago and they basically kept calling me and telling me the following;

1. we need a £1000 deposit

2. we don't have a price

3. we don't have a date

4. we don't have anymore info than on the website

5. this car is cool

6. this car is fast

7. you want this car

8. we need a £1000 deposit

I stopped calling them back as they were leaving me one voicemail per week asking me to callback and everytime i called i asked if they had any new info and they just said "no, but we need a £1000 deposit"... disgusting... :hurl:

Thats very interesting as Nissan Inc *****cked nissan UK for taking £1000 deposits and told them they must return them as until the dealers are set up they R35 GTR is not going to be a UK car so there taking deposits for a car that technically does not exist in this country and very naughty!!

Price wise i would have thought around £50-55k OTR but not sure about the model report, ive heard that theres 2 on the road over here ;)
