I have been hunting through the many pages of E Bay and other ICE suppliers for a decent set up in my Beemer. The head unit I have eventually gone for is the Pioneer DEH-P65BT dehp65bt.jpg. 50w X 4 and and direct sub drive. It does everything I want including bluetooth for hands free and streaming. Plus you can change the colour to suit the interior lighting . My question is this: My obvious choice of speakers and sub (active) is Pioneer because logically they should work well together? Has anyone got any doubts about pioneer speakers and subs? I have seen so many different makes its like a nightmare trying to keep up.

What would be your choice? spending on speakers and sub (active) no more than £250 for 4 x speakers and the sub.

thanks vini

Vini, ive had pioneer speakers in the past and i think the quality is pretty good, i usually buy pioneer or kenwood headunits / speakers, as for me they give a good balance of quality and price.

Hope this helps

John

Thanks...............

your welcome vini

i personally would not go for pioneer amps or speakers, some of the headunits are ok though. i have always found their amps and speakers lack sound quality. kenwood amps and speakers have always been a good bet. there are others available like audiobahn, mb quartz, cerwin vega, alpine, JBL, JL audio, hifonics, infinity, ect, which are quality. have a browse on this website, its very well known around the forums with quality service.

i used to have 2 in car audio & security shops in sheffield, so have fitted all this type of gear for years.

Cheers chaps. Its a fookin nightmare knowing what to get. I put kenwood 6x9's in the 300 and they sound well nice. But just wanted to play the field now I got the money. Well some anyway. :D

There are better manufactures of subs and speakers out there.

I'm not really with all the audio side of things any more but....

When i was i would of gone for a JL Audio W7 sub and Alpine speakers but there top range can't remember what they are.

You don't need to match up all brands as in my opinion Alpine were the best head units and JL Audio were the best subs and then i had Inifity speakers as they were very good for a reasonable price in fact i still have them.

Also, don't bother with 6x9s you get a better sound from a round speaker and buy Components as the Tweater and mid are seperate providing a better clarity of sound and the bass will be better. Ok you will have a sub but you want speakers which can also handle a reasonable amount of bass.

Thanks bud. I am not getting 6x9's as the standard fittment is the 13cm round speaker. front and back. The sub I have is an active alpine that fits right neat and tidy into the hole where the rear armrest is.

Cheers again Jaff. nice one.
