Converting Series 1 uk clocks to series 2?

dunk300zxtt (very nice guy) has just been helping me fit some UK clocks only to find his are series 1 and mine are series 2.

 

I have done a search and can see people have done the conversion, but no write up to say how it's done. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
