What are TT's like at mileage over 100k? I'm going to view a TT manual that is well over 100k miles so just wanted to know if I'm wasting my time or not really. I come from a VW background and generally speaking they dont really get good until nearly 100k, so mileage has never really bothered me that much, so long as car has been looked after.

Its got FSH and looks good to me, but this is the first nissan I've seen with high mileage so not sure. What do you guys think?

Mileage is'nt really an issue, its all down to Service history. Although since the engines produce a lot more power than VW's offerings, things are put under more stress and that leads to more wear, but still 100k is nothing.

Turbo's are perhaps the first to go...generally anything from 80-120k, but there are those with much higher mileage than that on original tubs.

Wouldn't trust the mileage on ANY 300zx regardless of docutments etc.

IMHO 95% of all 300zx's are well over 100,000 miles no matter what the odomitor says.

Just go with the condition of each car you view and the service history etc, dont even bother looking at the numbers on the dash.

If 95% of cars are well over 100k, then 95% of the associated service histories are not worth the paper they're written on!!

Think it's fair to say that the majority of imports are clocked UNLESS you have history with it (although it's hard to comprehend) AND you have the original export paperwork and auction grade sheets so you can be sure it came direct to the UK and didn't 'disappear' anywhere for a few years...

With UK's with service history, you can get in touch with the garages for fuurther info too & be fairly confident that everything's in order...

ok well thnx for that, the car has full nissan SH so, i'll just give a good going over and see whats what. Anything specific in a Manual TT with that high miles? (and yes I have and will go thru the buying guide again :) )

I currently still have a '71 SuperBeetle Karmann Convertible. tho I am thinking of selling this.

Need another car tho regardless, used to have 200bhp Corrado VR6 but brakes failed and had a nasty incident with a roundabout last year. Shame, it was an awesome car and immaculate.

I would reckomend having a look for rust under the sills and around the back arches too.

Have to agree with that.

Any car's odometer that can be disabled within a couple of minutes can not be trusted.

Luckily they changed that on the later ones ;)

Its more that it takes 5 min to take out and roll back, thats the problem. Before it goes in for MOT/service if you did 10,000 miles since that last one, roll it back 5,000 before it goes in. Easy.
