I have jap folding mirrors, drivers side motor is bust, so bought a pair from ebay a while ago in pearl white.

Trouble is, mine have the small connector block and the new ones have a larger one. Am i right in thinking that the extra wires are for the heated mirror section and if so, anyone got a simple wiring diagram?

Cheers

Graham

I did a similar thing, you can take them apart and swap all the gubbins over, although you do have to cut the plugs off and resolder them as they don't fit through the holes. And yes, Series II usually have heated mirrors.

Are you sure the ones you have bought are jap folding ones as my UK ones have the large block connector.

S2 onward cars seem to have the bigger connector wether its got Heated mirrors or not in my experience. I had to fiddle with around with a Multimeter and solder them up instead.

cheers guys, the only other thing i noticed about the housing, is that the little grub screw you normally undo to get the glass out is not there on either and they dont seem to want to come apart, any ideas before i muller them.

Thanks

Graham

If i were you id chop your old plug off the knackered mirror and scotch the new one on so that the new mirror ends up with 2 plugs , that way you will retain the old plug as well as not wrecking the loom on the car.

Both clips should fit through the holes fine as i have a seris 1 but the uk mirrors fitted on it fine, i swapped them back for j spec ones after shrimpy binned his car!!

From memory i think they are, you just end up with a few spares when going fron jap to uk as the uks dont fold.

Good luck!
