Well, the motor in the Zed has been making a tapping noise for some time now and we (Jimmer) and me did not think it was just tappets. So I have kept on driving it until it got worse. It was mentioned by Jimmer that it now sounded 'SERIOUS' and that I should stop driving as it could go 'BANG' in a rather big way. So this morning he popped over and with me holding the light, he proceeded to remove my engine. What a journey it was, there was so much wrong with it that it has cheered me up. It has been overfueling for ages but because the tuning was done by Owen Developments of Oxford, it really meant that it should go back to them. I live in Bristol and it is a toy so there was no great hurry to go through the rigmoral of taking up to Oxford and letting them sort it out. It still drove well but occasionally shot flames out the back which at night looked spectacular. A bit like Batman. Strangely it was still good on petrol returning 20 -25 mpg. As I have been spouting on here, be prepared for additional costs once you start stripping and my old jamjar is no exception. Both the engine mounts are well fubarred and the RPS clutch is on its last legs. I have yet to find the cause of the tapping noise but I suspect a broken ring. The rest will be stripped shortly to confirm this. Meanwhile here are some pictures of todays proceedings.

I bet that took him all of 2 hours to remove that engine didn't it?

Just about Glenn including stopping for a breakfast baguette and coffee. I think he is seriously mad, all the time he was working on it he was laughing and joking. He definitely needs to see a shrink. It is such a sh*t job, I would rather put ointment on piles.
