Guys,

Got real issues with the headlights at the mo, looks like its gone into some safety mode and only the square lights come on very dimly.

I have an electrician working on it at the mo and he wants to find the dip dim relay box, which ive just found out is in the passenger wing (mine is UK 1991).

1) Does anyone know how hard this is to get to and does it involve taking the wing off?

2) Once all the wiring is sorted, im having them install an HID kit, but ive read that this dip dim relay thing should be disabled to stop the HID's cutting out when you switch to full beam or flash someone. Does anyone have a link/guide on what needs to be done there?

Cheers

Dan

No need to remove anything apart from the lid for the fuse/relay box - its right behind the passenger headlight on the inner wing, just infront of the shock absorber turret ;)

UK models don't have dim dip I don't think? That module (if you do have it) should be accessible by removing the rear arch liner of the front wheel :)

i am soo confused now, been reading loads of posts and got the idea that Jap ones didnt have it!

Ok thanks mate, i'll let them know anyway.

Does anyone know about the HID bit, stopping them turning off when you flash?

I'm not 100% but I thought the dimdip was only on the models with the daytime control unit which wasn't on UK zeds.

There are some posts on here about the HID issue, I'll see if I can find them :)

You need to earth the negative HID lead (the wire that attaches to the bulb from the Ballast unit) to keep the Dipped beam on when you flash high beam

Hi Guys

I own a uk spec 1993 TT. It also has dim dip. To dissable it you have to cut all the wires. i know it plugs into to small green box shown on pic, just below AIV. Not sure if you could just unplug, to do the same thing. hope this helps.

Regards

Kev
