whats the best way to remove a turbo from my jap tt ???? , its the drivers side , i believe it makes a difference ,, please help

The easiest way to remove the turbo is to take the engine out.

This is the advisable way, becuase if you have sheered off the rota you are going to want to strip the engine down to check for any bore scratches or shards of metal in the engine.

You can take the turbo off while the engine is still in but it's not easy.

Take the engine out to get the turbo out, I spent hours trying to get the passy side out with the engine in, i did it in the end by spliting the tub, but that in itself was an arse of a job, so I wouldnt recommend it, mind you i did mine on the side of the road, with no proper lighting etc... if you can get it over a pit it would be easier, but never the less, If I have to do it again, I'll get someone to have the engine out for me.

I'm glad you did it in the end ;)

Is it all back together now?

i have access to a 2 or 4 post ramp would it be possible in this situation ????

carmek, the passenger side(L/H) is just about possible to remove with engine in.

Drivers side is very hard (i.e. almost impossible) to do with engine in. The trouble is the amount of stuff in the way. Steering rack is the biggest problem.
